Asics World Ekiden 2020

In this particular year for all runners in the world, Asics has decided to organize a virtual marathon, precisely the Asics World Ekiden 2020.

Ekiden is a relay race and was born in Japan in 1917.

This competition takes place on the length of the marathon where the fractions that are covered by the participants of the team are divided as follows: 5km-10km-5km-10km-5km and 7,195km.

We of the staff of The Venice Sport Shop, and Sport Shop Maerne, could not miss it.

We have selected 6 of the best runners of our Venice Running Club, and other associated clubs, and we have tried this experience of "virtual marathon".

In the splendid Venetian setting of the San Giuliano park, on a cold evening in mid-November we covered our 42.197 km.

The result was surprising, to say the least, our team finished the event with a time of 2 h and 50 minutes, and finished 324th out of participating teams.
